Depends on what you want to study. For me it did'nt make sense, but it did for my wife. She got a very specialized master's in education and got a $24,000 increase in salary in her current role.

In my field (accounting), in order to qualify to sit for the CPA exam you have to take a certain amount of hours and some specific classes that are graduate level (varies by state). While a graduate degree is not required, by the time you are eligible to sit for the exam you are only a couple of classes short so most people go ahead and finish the MAcc.
In accounting, taking the extra hours to become a CPA is absolutely worth it.

Engineering, yeah sort of. Only do it if a company pays for it for you to get a raise and only do a thesis if you just really love research.

A BS is needed for any engineering field. Are you saying that you didn’t even need that?
A masters is pretty much useless In engineering. MBA can pay out sometimes.
Depends on the engineering.
EMCChe (electrical, Mechanical, civil, and chemical) are good enough at the BS level. Industrial works out as well.
Biomedicals usually end up getting an advanced degree at some point.
The other issue is that this only applies to engineering and some other fields. Generally people go to grad school to fix a problem with undergrad or their field isn't marketable at the BS level.
I have a BS in Physics and an MS in Engineering, so ive been exposed to both sides of this.
