I've only known two people who go to a church like that (well enough that I can ask them such a question) - both of them go to Joel's Palace of Smiles and Sunshine (aka Lakeside Church in Houston.)
I'm pretty sure Joel Osteen is not paid by the church, fwiw. And that church actually does quite a bit of good in the community.

Don't be fooled my friend.....Osteen gets something from that church.

I'm not fooled by Osteen. I don't like him as a preacher and I find his excessive wealth distasteful for a supposed man of God.
That being said, he is different than Dino in that he doesn't take money directly from his church.

Pretty sure you're wrong...but be fooled by the smiles.

I can't take anything out of that "church" seriously knowing they employ those types of people.
How do people take anything seriously out of any church is the real question.

So does Kaycee get to come back too?
I mean, everyone is forgiven, right?
I bet the "forgiveness" at HPC will not apply equally here.
This story reminds me of the Clinton fiasco with no blue dress or cigars...

If he's not paid by Lakewood, he's paid by Joel Osteen Ministries. Six one, half dozen another. Unless you are aware of another way he makes a tremendous amount of money.

I live in Houston for more than half a decade and never heard of his church doing a single thing for the community at large. Maybe I just missed it.

He's a human, nothing more, nothing less, just like all of us. Humans are fallen. The only non-hypocrite that has ever walked the face of this entire earth was Jesus himself, which is why he stressed forgiveness, reconciliation, humility, and loving one another. He knew human nature, which even the most devout of pastors are not immune to, no matter how much people would like the contrary to be the case.
Any idiot can point out the sins and weaknesses of another human. That's not a special trait, no matter how much people would like it to be. It takes a stronger person to show grace and forgiveness, and promote reconciliation. If certain members of HPC decide to forgive Mr. Rizzo, and move on with him as their leader, good for them. They are actually acting biblically towards their leader.

How long have you been a member?
Posted on 11/24/14 at 7:58 pm to TigerinKorea
I would love to see Dino to come clean on the matter.... Alas he didn't, he just left.... But hey people forgive him when he can't even be honest about what he did

Your logic is not wanted here.
We are too busy practicing hypocrisy. I'll thank you to not post again.

Agree completely WDE..I go to a church where our pastor was asked/then told to leave after an affair with a woman in the congregation. I was amazed at the women who wanted him to stay. I didn't judge the man and certainly understand he is human and fallible..but he or anyone else in my opinion shouldn't be in a place of leadership or spiritual teaching after such an indiscretion. Good luck to Dino and his family, but have the decency to stay away from the pulpit of such a large church with often spiritually hungry members.

Expecting him to remain faithful in his marriage is not setting the bar very high, one of the basic tenants of leadership is setting a example with your own behavior, forgive him if you wish, but he has no place in a role of leadership.

No, replaced by his cousin Frank Rizzo.
Who apparently has a drinking problem.
