It just seems like with the cost of burial, most people not really belonging to a church is it now the way to go? I have life insurance but would rather my wife just save the money and cremate me. What do i care . What are the OT ballers plans after their posting days are over? that means dead. As an added bonus what you want done with your Ashes? if cremated.

Unless you're a big time fundamentalist that believes that your body will rise in the second coming of Jesus, then I don't see why cremation should bother you.

I still hope to transfer my consciousness before my body dies, but cremation of my body sounds fine.

If you cremate them then they won't become a zombie.

I want to be cremated and go out Hunter S. Thompson style. frickin' cannons and fireworks.

ETA: That, or mix my ashes with prime North Alabama loam and let my dustified arse become a peach tree.

Totally agree my grandmother passed about a year ago and she was a go to church weekly type of lady and the preacher even admitted to it being acceptable.

I'm going to put it in my will that my family is to spend no more than the necessary on my death. Like 275 bucks total.

Hell, no! I want to be frozen and brought back to life one day. You can't undo cremation.

If you haven't been through the total bullshite of the funeral industry trying to upsell you while you are grieving the recent loss of a loved one you are lucky. They are the most despicable frickers ever. I had a relative who specifically requested that money NOT be spent on a funeral. We went in and said cremate the body and put it in a box. They spent an hour trying to convince me to do something else. I was livid by the time I left.

My dad had a wake, a funeral, and has a headstone.

He donated organs and was cremated.

He is now in my mom's closet

Love is a funny thing

I want to be cremated, my ashes mixed with a water, placed in a douche bottle, and find/hire a willing lady to run me through one more time.

We cremated my father and I think it is better that way. Direct cremation with no open casket wake. I don't like my last memory of someone to be laid out in a casket not looking like them self. We had the ashes and photos at the funeral services.

My family (both parents and myself) are going zero cost to any of us. We signed up through Univ. of Memphis so that upon death just call the 800 number and they'll come pickup the corpse for research. No charge, anywhere in the continental USA, they come out and get the body. They might donate usable organs too.

Screw the funeral industry and their predatory practices upon grieving families charging thousands to put a body in a box and then the ground.

If anyone wants my money after I am gone then they will give all my organs to those that need them, cremate me, then throw a party with booze and a band. I want a celebration of my life not a cryfest over my death.

My wife and I would prefer to be cremated. Our company's insurance broker mentioned during our renewal that our insurance carrier will (if I understand correctly) automatically order a casket (very expensive) if you do not contact them within 24 hours to inform them about your choice to cremate.

I think that is the default since the casket needs to be ready timely (if you are not cremating). The insurance broker said that with so much going on when someone passes, it's often a surprise to families and an unintended (very costly) expense.
