Evidently the site backpages is no longer allowed to allow people to post escort ads on the site. I checked it out and it shows "censored" on the categories that are no longer allowed. And when you click the category there is a message about how the government unconstitutionally censored the material on the site.

What is unconstitutional about this? Is this similar to poker site or other type of gambling sites? Take draft kings for example, it depends on what state you live in as to whether or not you are allowed to play and that isn't unconstitutional.

This is a damn cryin' shame. And yes, it's a violation of the 1st amendment.

Why do you need an escort website? Just do it like all the other desperate men in your age bracket. Go to the bar, hit on girls and get turned down several times until you're drunk enough to sob and offer some 50 year old 100$ for 20 minutes.

No you fricks. Someone told me about it. They actually told me about it the other day and I just thought about it.. But yeah, I can see how it does look like I was looking for escorts... That wasn't the case.. I would assume most of those ads are law enforcement traps..

You're actually actively breaking the law in one scenario (gambling online). The other is just an add.

If it stops illicit sex dead in it's tracks I am for it. Illicit sex kills more people per year than either second hand smoke or Big Gulps.

Backpage dropped it they weren't forced to do it. If you want a hooker go to the dating section, they all moved there.

Not when they are openly trafficking minors, which they are... so no, it is not unconstitutional

The government did not censor it. So it's not a violation of the First Amendment. However the government did pressure them into censoring it by threatening legal action for them allowing illegal activity or solicitation of illegal activity to be posted there. That would be prostitution and trafficking of minors
