I'm thinking about going to nursing school this fall. They make a lot of money after graduating, easily get hired and can basically get hired in any location I want. How much work will I have to do for two years, until I get my associates degree?

I don't know if being an RN is worth it. Being an NP or PA is DEFINITELY worth it

Seems like the bloom is off the rose with nursing. Seems like 15-20 years ago, like pharmaceutical sales, was the "it" job.

Reading these replies is disheartening, sorry for all the a-hole replies. But yeah you can definitely get in and out of nursing school pretty quick and make good money straight away. Don't let any of these cynics put you down for following whatever gay dreams you have.

Yes it's worth it. There is a lot more opportunity in nursing than people realize. I'm in sales now, make good money, and have very flexible hours.

If you do it go the Nurse Practitioner or Anesthetist route.

If you go to nursing school you better make a plan to either go straight for your BSN....or plan on going back to school to get your BSN online or something while working full time as a nurse.

Many hospitals nationwide are going towards only hiring BSN nurses and making their current RNs obtain their BSN before a certain timeframe.
