Years ago when u verse was new, I signed up. They ran a cable on my grass through my yard and said they would come bury it. They never did.
I kept uverse only a year and went back to dish.
Two years ago I switch to cox, then last month I went all in with at&t.

A month later I have a dish on the ground in a temp stand weighed down with tupperware full of water. A wire on my fence to my house, a second wire from the att box in the back corner to the house and a third wire that was buried in conduit but never hooked up.

When the wind blows I have no dish signal.
I asked if I could run the wires myself and install the dish and was told NO.

MY lawn guy has to move this stuff every week. Then I have to set it back up.
Drives me nuts.
Bill came in.
I'm thinking I shouldn't have to pay until they finish the install.
What say the OT?

I know others had this issue, can't be just me.

Did you take advantage of the "2 free iPhone 7's" that came with it?

I wouldn't have let the install guy leave with it like that

It is customary for the installer to give you his card with his number. Did he not do this?

in my experience, these companies use contractors for this type of installation...they are as unofficial as can be and almost look like day laborers when you see them.

doesn't really answer your question, but I guess I had to vent!

I've run into these types of problems with ATT in BR. The problem is that there is absolutely no communication with ATT and their field techs. It's really shocking how a communication company is so horribly bad at communicating within their own company.

No. I had cell service with them.
They said for $70 more I could get 240 channels, hbo for two years and internetn since cox was $80 for just internet and $210 total this seemed a no brainer.

He was here from 9am to 6pm
He didn't have glow rods or a wall bit, so I did the attic drops while he ran the wire. 8 think he was new.
He said two more crews would come to bury the wires and finish the install.
Two weeks later a wire was buried. That's all I've heard from them.

The first guy was an Att employee. Att van and all.
Said everyone else would be contractors.

I'm going to wait a little longer and just do it myself.

I would probably just do it myself to get it off my mind...

Did you have telephone at your house before?
My house has two ATT boxes in the far corners on our servitude, yet had no buried line to the house.
That is the root of the problem. I wanted the dish on the roof and the guy said it was too hot so I agreed to a pole for the rest of summer.
But it's not on a pole..it's in the ground.
This is the exact mount it's on...

I closed my DTV account and for three months in a row I was told that the issue I had with them was taken care. On the fourth month AT&T/DTV deducted $360.00 out of my checking account. I went ballistic with Capital One, AT&T and registered a complaint with the BBB. I got all the money back but what a PITA!
And yes I have heard about the shoddy installation work with AT&T.

Att are the laziest frickers hands down. I have about 5 years of experience with them to draw on. They do half arse jobs then have the nerve to come back and ask you to give them a good review

I just made a thread last week with your exact situation! To a T. I can help you out. Without going through my 30 page long ordeal, I finally have it resolved and now know how to go around the situation. Send me your email

It does not work that way. The ATT person runs the line and a private contractor working for att bury the line later

I have this friend and he gave his cable guy $50 and then he got all the movie channels for free. You ever hear of anything like that?

ATT is better at selling than installing and supporting.

They have one guy do the install and another bury the cables which seems inefficient to me. If you can navigate their system to escalate the problem to a supervisor it will get done.

Cox screwed me like that in 2006. I cancelled service at my old house. They sent a guy to get my boxes. Two years later I get a hit on my credit report I owe Cox $600 for failing to turn in boxes.
So two weeks ago when cox tech came to get boxes the day after I cancelled. I refused.
Drove to Elysian Fields and turned them in, in person. I asked for a receipt, they didn't have anything, they said. So I had the lady write the serial numbers on a post it note and signed it then I took a selfie with her. Hell. Have to have something to use in small claims court in two years. Lol
