Is anyone else extremely paranoid about dating apps?

I might be a pussy but I just don't feel comfortable at all. You have no fricking clue who you're talking to. I have lost out on dates because I take forever to ask them out. I wish I grew up in the days before this shite was the norm and people actually interacted in person.

The majority of them link their Instagram accounts so you can easily tell who's real and who isn't.

I have had success. Never been catfished. Always met cool girls. Only had one bad date out of I don't know how many, and that's because the girl didn't talk. I typically get the smart, good looking, successful ones. They always show up.

Eh, in a big city, everyone's moving so fast, if they don't know you, you have no chance.
In college I was pretty good at getting girls numbers and Friends/with/benefitsing chicksbat the apartment complex but here, people don't even seem very social even in bars.

My buddy (in his 40's) just had his wife leave him for another women. After a couple of months he was ready to try dating and reached out to another one of our friends who's been divorced for years now. The advice given to him was that it's easy to get laid but you must lower your standards if you want it quick. He then pointed him in the direction of a few dating sites that worked for him.
Long story short my buddy meets chicks from online for coffee and if they hit it off they text later in the week and bang. He's been doing this for a couple of months now. He says none of them are gross but nothing exactly to write home about either.
First chick he screwed though he says was a freak, like a real freak. She asked him to fist her. I mean people really do that!?!
