I-49 in both directions: Road closed. share
At Exit 7: LA 182; North University Avenue (near Carencro). The road is closed because of flooding.

KATC reports State Police are working to shut down all lanes of Interstate 49 from Opelousas to Interstate 10 in Lafayette due to flooding. Several vehicles have been submerged and rescue efforts are underway. Troopers are asking people to avoid the area.

You're dumb. Trying to be a smartass, and ended up being a dumbass. I like when that happens.

Closure is between exits 7 & 11. I live .25 miles from interstate in this area. I took a ride earlier to check it out. Water was not the problem for me getting around. Smaller vehicles parked everywhere because they couldnt travel were the issue. My lifted F250 handled it well. Truck nuts got a little damp but for only a short amount of time. Water looks like is receding and should continue to do so as long as heavy rains stay away.
