iPhone 5s has Died after 5 Years - Best Way to Upgrade?

It has been a good run, I've had the same phone since 2012.
Looking at the iPhone 6s or 7.
Clueless ATT customer here -- will I get the best deal through ATT customer service while threatening to cancel, or is best buy or one of those 3rd parties the best way to go for an upgrade?

pretty sure you have to either out right buy your phone or pay in installments. that being said iphone 8 is coming out later this year. I think you can buy a used iphone 6 for like 250. use that and then use your ATT NEXT deal for iphone 8

Don't waste your money on an IPhone...kick the habit, I just bought my daughter a Moto G Plus 64GB. very nice phone for a 1/3 of the price of the status symbol.

Did you have insurance? Make a claim and many times they send you the next model (6) since old model is fazing out.

Go on ATT website and compare the currently offered plans to whatever you have now to see if the new plans are better than what you have now.
But as far as I know, they've abandoned the whole idea of subsidizing the retail price of the phone in exchange for you agreeing to a new 2 year contract. You have to pay full cost of phone, either outright or ATT will do monthly installments.
My go to place...closest electronics store to the house and they'll price match almost any major retailer...so search online for the iPhone model you want and see if anybody has it cheaper. If you show it to Best Buy rep, they should be able to price match.
