Insulation question: Commercial building with a metal roof.

Is there a way to improve the insulation after the fact?
Backstory:
4400' single story brick and stucco. Has a metal roof screwed into wooden purlins. Between the drop ceiling and the purlins is about 3-4' of space. On top of the ceiling tiles is a layer of about 6" of insulation(fiberglass).
Should I consider spray foam to the underside of the metal roof or just add more rolled insulation?
Definitely meeting w/ a insulation company, but there's a wealth of knowledge and experience here so I'd like to hear your thoughts.
Looking to improve summertime AC performance and I feel we are getting a lot of heat from the roof.

Seems like spray foam would work.

Just have to be careful using that due to leak detection from the metal roof. Open cell, I guess, would be better than closed.

I feel reasonably certain the OB would recommend a combination of Flex Seal and Flex Foam.

there are methods to attached blanket insulation between the purlins that are cheaper especially if you won't be able to see it. You can use chicken wire or metal strapping to hold it in place
spray foam is great but there are fire code issues with it that should be addressed

I've done many metal roofs with spray foam applied directly to the sheeting. It makes a huge difference.

OK, so you would apply it to the underside of the metal? spray purlins and everything, I assume?

Will review this for sure.

yes you spray everything including the purlins
it will also help to stiffen your roof assembly

What about leak detection? Also, heat flex?
I hear that rascal pop every now and then.
