Good morning, love.

And you

You’re like a moth to the flame on a host of topics, and if anyone told you “don’t like it, just ignore it,” you would mock them mercilessly

Excluding volatile food and energy prices
I love how they exclude the two things you can’t avoid buying when calculating inflation. Food costs have become ridiculously high over the past few years, and it doesn’t appear like the inflation there is relenting.

I have not seen one news article or press release saying we're deflationary. We are disinflationary. Things would be turbo fricked if we suddenly went deflationary.

The media always implies inflation and prices are the same thing. This is why you'll often see man-in-the-street stories where people are talking about prices still being high despite inflation dropping.

Biden made a particularly idiotic statement recently, claiming now that “inflation was falling” it was “price gouging” if companies didn’t lower the price of goods. If inflation is falling, prices are still going up, albeit a bit slower than before, jackass.

Inflation is LOWER when including food and energy.

When you take those things out of the equation, as you complained about, the inflation measure goes UP.

That’s been the case for several months now and it never fails that some of yall complain about it lmao. Makes it easy to spot emotional idiots who can’t interpret basic math.

So it’s just the food I’m buying that’s going up? Maybe... What I do know for sure is my grocery bill has continually rose and is higher now then ever and I cut out things along the way that I traditionally bought due to price increases.

Even if it lowers the rate it would still be a more accurate number because everyone has to buy those items.
