Too busy for me. I like their quality, just not for me.

I've got the G-Shock analog watch but mine has the white hour markers and hands. I love it and it's my every day watch.

For an actual "Field Watch" get a Seiko 5.

Probably the best value automatic watch in existence.

Yours is the best value diving watch, of course, but will cost 3-4 times what the 5 will.

I'll look into the Seiko 5 and the Hamilton. I don't need a dive watch, I have an actual Cressi dive computer watch for when I go SCUBA diving.

Purchases the s3 calendar and it’s really nice. $175 quartz but sapphire crystal. Screw down crown too. Sweet little piece. Thin case so not obtrusive

Is 2 weeks even worth going at all?

I wear a bertucci occasionally. Kind of clunky looking but tough as nails

I have one of these but don’t wear it much. It’s a fricking tank of a watch.

But my #1 choice at the price point is the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical. At 38mm it isn't too dainty or to big to lose the retro field watch feel and at around $400 leaves some room in the budget to add some extra NATO straps.

I had a G-Shock from college until after Katrina. Roughly 25+ years. That watch took more abuse than I thought possible. The band broke sometime in 2006 or so, when it was still pain in the arse to get specific things. Haven't worn a watch since.

I love the G Shocks, but they are bulky and get caught on stuff.

If I had a dollar for every time a G Shock has hung up a strap while someone was unassing their ruck I could wear Langes and Pateks as beaters and just toss them when they got dirty.

That being said I still think whatever the current version of the basic G Shock square is at the time (5600E now) is the best deployment watch made, despite its bulk.
