Have you seen schools recently?
Ill take my chances with home schooling.

This kid in my extended-family is home school’d. He wears a fedora everywhere he goes — he’s 20. Enough said

Eh, they typically care significantly more about their children's education and long term success. In contrast to the vast majority of parents that just drop their kids off at a glorified public daycare and DGAF and have zero idea what their kids are even learning.

One thing people don't take into account is unforseen circumstances. I know a family that homeschooled and it was going great until the mom/teacher's parents got sick. She was trying to homeschool their kid and take care of her mom and dad at the same time and things fell apart. If you homeschool, have some kind of backup plan.

Public school is child abuse in 2023

This is the issue. Home schooling isn’t the issue.

Yet the kids you read about being starved and locked in cages are exclusively home schooled.

They’re weird because they lack social skills. But I realize their parents want the best for them.

There is nothing more weird than a boy claiming to be a girl then having a Teacher support them in their mental illness.
That is what Public School has become.

I'd rather have weird kids than radicalized ones.

FWIW My kids went to Livingston Parish schools and are still amazed at how those who graduated from EBR public schools know. I'm talking about general knowledge of history, math & science.

This is true in all of my interactions with homeschooled kids. They're incredibly sheltered and lack social skills.

They aren't weird if they play sports and stuff.
How is Tim Tebow weird? I'll hang up and listen

Exactly...that poor kid never got bullied into understanding how to be a normal member of society

This is largely a pretty dated view of homeschooling. There are a ton of weird kids coming out of traditional schools these days, but would agree that historically homeschooled kids are missing some social norms.
What you’re seeing presently is a larger focus on new models of schooling that are technically homeschooling and fall outside of the department of education. These programs and parents have a greater focus providing social interaction to kids than older models of homeschooling. As a result, you see kids coming out of homeschool environments that are no different than any other kid.

My wife was homeschooled from 3rd grade up. She married me. Definitely something wrong with her. Hooray for homeschool!

I submit the home schooled are far more normal than the society they separated from.
At least the Tebow family knows how and what is a woman , there’s 2 genders, and that it takes both and a woman to create a new life.

Most people fail to understand that learning how to socialize is as important to a child's development as learning to read. The kids that are home-schooled don't know how to deal with other people. They are emotionally stunted. This is not speculation either. It's a fact.
