Anyone ever installed one of these in the ground?

I am tired of having to move the one my kids have each week when I cut the backyard. Thinking about attempting something like this when it cools off.

I don't plan on digging it by hand. I will probably rent a small back hoe and use the dirt to fill some new flower beds.

I thought about it but was worried about the water table.

how would you go about doing this? Dig the hole and set some retaining wall blocks around the hole and just set it in the hole after? Or is this a different design of trampoline?

Also, I wouldn't do it just for the fact that kids are fickle and this thing will have to be addressed sooner than later when they grow tired of the trampoline.

No... I meant the water seeping up and it staying a stagnant baby lake for mosquito breeding.

I have never see that before but that is awesome. I have seen an above ground pool buried in the ground though.

its going to fill up full of water and stink. you will have to install a drainage system too.

I'd rather move the trampoline than have a giant hole in my yard that will eventually have to be filled.

In the last 30 seconds I saw this thread. Showed the SO thinking it was the greatest idea, then was reminded of this point. Mosquitos and a low water table.

I found a kit online detailing the process that cost around 1k.

That's a bad idea for Louisiana...sediment likes to move when it rains.

A gravel base wouldn't prevent that?

Its not worth it. Just scoot it around to mow. Before long your kids will grow tired of it and will end up trashing it anyway after it dry rots. My parents got one two years ago for the grandkids and nobody touches it now.

Very true, you could put a foot of gravel in the bottom of the hole to help with the drainage and then get a small 4" drain line but you would need to run it to a sewer line or to a storm drain line.

I would think this would be much safer over the course of a couple years though considering it is 3" shorter than an above ground.

My youngest is 3 months old so I am sure I will get at least another 15 years of use.

If you're just tired of moving it to mow, why not just make a circular area with rubber mulch and then have the regular trampoline sit on that?
