from what it sounds like... his guilt was never in question... defense was basically using the trial to try to spare his life... not actually defend his innocence

I'd rather him spend the rest of his pointless life in Supermax im total isolation than give him the chance to think he's some martyr if he's executed

Yeah that was the defense strategy. He did it, but it was his brother who lead the charge and made him do it.

Good luck winning that one. The defense essentially was fighting to spare him the chair...life in prison would actually be a win for them.
