What Nola local chooses to go to dave and busters?

They are a business that came to our community. I had enjoyed establishments in other places. Made sense to go check it out.

You deserve all the ridicule due for wanting to see Girls Trip. It looks horrible

It was basically the black female version of The Hangover. Which I also enjoyed. It won't win any critic awards, that's for sure, but sometimes you just need a funny movie.

d once in a while there's something at the IMAX

You'll be waiting a long while. There is no longer an IMAX theater. All of the 70mm projection equipment was pulled out and now it's just a bigger screen with digital projection.

Thanks, NOLA

You went to see a movie with a mostly black cast about a trip to the Essence Festival, and you are surprised that you were the only white people there

Not at all. I expected to be one of the only white people there, and as I said in my OP, I told my wife that ahead of time.

I'm surprised as how my fellow movie-goers acted.

Sounds like the Edwards Marquee in Houston. Without the overt racism.

It baffles me how there are so many people that hate and despise New Orleans and could not care less about the city yet always find themselves posting in New Orleans threads and they don't even live in the city.

I have never lived in NO. I have always lived in BR. I started to sour on NO based on my visits and experiences there, similar to those mentioned above. Now, much to my horror, BR has become NO, Junior.

new orleans east is a complete shite hole.....there is no doubt about it

But its not just the East. There is a ridiculous litter/cleanliness problem all over NO. I didn't really notice or care in my 10 years there besides not littering myself, but my first time back after moving its hard not to notice. But a majority of that could be resolved by people who live there just caring a little bit and not throwing things all on the ground, but that is unlikely.

Really, a bad movie and D&B experience is what turned you off? Not the rampant rape, murder, and drugs? Or fascism like tearing down monuments?

I don't do drugs and I have not been personally affected by rape and murder. And I could give a crap about the monuments.

What exactly did you expect going to a movie theater and a Dave and Busters? I understand souring on NOLA, it's got issues, but basing it on two places known nationwide to attract awful clientele is a bit short sighted.

Ok, good.

I know how triggered you get when people speak poorly of your beloved cesspool.

Ya, but we're in a NO thread and its just too tempting to get into state wide issues.
