i'm just going to say it..YETI doesn't seem to hold ice any longer than my igloo

got one as a gift from my FiL and i *WANT* to believe its magic, but 24 hours after putting ice in it, its mostly water just like the igloo.
i'm probably doing it wrong but can some YETI person explain this to me?
its as bad as people acting like its magic when a yeti cup still has hot coffee in it 8 hours later when my thermos has been doing that for 40+ years.

The water in your yeti is wet

Start by closing the lid, genius

your yeti isn't stickered yet so its not up to full potential.

Unless you have mud tires, really no need for a yeti. They actually suck more than styrofoam ice chest. It only holds ice if you leave it shut and don't open it to get a beer out or put fish in. So in other words its useless

The only advantage to a Yeti over an igloo is if it stay closed it will hold ice a lot longer than an igloo.
If you are opening up repeatedly for drinks then there is no added benefit.

Did you pre-cool it for 5 days?
ETA: I do not own a yeti ice chest. Ice and drinks are heavy enough without an unnecessary 40 lbs (and yes, bro, I lift) but I do love the tumblers. It's the lid that makes the difference.

Which color did you get? How cute it is matters.

what kind of igloo you rockin? i'm no yeti bro, but they certainly hold ice much longer than the typical igloo. we have kept ice on a boat all weekend in a yeti.
that said, i'd never pay that much for a damn ice chest. i'll get one of the knock offs from alibaba

Bring it by my house and I'll give you a new igloo ice chest in exchange for that defective Yeti.

He probably bought a counterfeit Chinese-made YETI because he hates you.

According to the OB, if you put ice in it and then leave the lid open in your house, you don't need to use the central AC.

THEN WHATS THE DAMN POINT?

i dont know..its about 30 years old and has wheels on one end and a pull out handle on the other.
its also alot easier to take with me even though it bigger than the yeti..the damn yeti is like 30lbs empty.
