I see fire trucks outside my grocery store all the time. Always thought it was badass that they took one of the rigs out grocery shopping.

I wonder if they have to pay their own grocery bill?

Once saw an older dude yell at some firefighters at Dorignac's bc they brought the fire engine to buy groceries.
I believe it was based on wasting taxpayer money or something.

They chuckled and kept walking.

We could spend 20+ pages listing shite that Jefferson Parish wastes more money on than a fire engine driving a few blocks.

I demand you be ready 24/7 to come save me!

How dare you go buy groceries to eat while being ready 24/7 to save my sorry arse!

You can always tell when the person realizes they’ve reached the point of no return and regret and just double down. Their voices get twice as frantic and borderline approaching tears. They start demanding proof be deleted.

Best part is the “got you, got you, got you” when he fakes taking pictures.

Ladies and gentlemen... you are witnessing a real life Ken.

This is what you get when social media ruins the society. What a fricking pussy that guy is. Those firemen handled that perfectly with class.

This is exactly why they take the fire engine

They are required to bring the truck and entire truck crew wherever they go in case a call is dispatched while on the run.

This iirc is an old video but you’d be surprised how many people think firefighters grocery shop or eat at restaurants with some kind of “city card” and don’t have to ever pay out of pocket.

Like a muscle fire trucks have to be exercised. If it sits for to long it may not be ready to go when needed most.

What in the world? They're 24 hours on. How else are they supposed to eat?

I really appreciate how the firefighters were telling him the name of their supervisor and how to file a complaint. No fricks given.

Wouldn't it make more sense just to send someone who's not on the truck crew?

If you're at the station working, you're on the truck crew. So the entire crew goes out to get groceries so they're all together with the truck in case of a call. Generally they'll run by on the way back from a previous call as well.

At least that's how my cousin's station is run.
