If I'm at home and my wife cooked whatever I'm eating, just remove it and drive on. Anywhere else though I'm done with whatever I was eating.

My immediate reaction is "aww frick" but I usually assess the situation. If it's just lying on dry food, i'll just not eat the food it's touching and will remove the hair. If it's in a soup or something wet/liquid and I'm still at the restaurant, I'll bring it back but I won't throw a fit over it.
If I already left the restaurant, I don't eat it.

I usually remove it and go about my business

Hair is everywhere, it's almost impossible to avoid it from happening occasionally

I convince myself it's mine, remove and continue eating. I can't imagine anything that could be on a hair that would hurt me.

I don't usually pay enough attention to notice it.

I suggest you research the rodent hair content of peanut butter.

They put that hair in there to let you know that you've already eaten their bodily fluids. So I normally just finish the meal.
