yeah i definitely thought about it late 2012/early 2013.

it was sub $100 until about mid-2013

likely you'd be paying $10-30 per BTC in that era

i mean what's the philosophical difference in that and a company exchanging USD for credit in real time?

This is why you are an attorney and I'm the financial guy.

so $100 then would be worth roughly 10-20k now.

Not 70 million but would be nice for sure.

that doesn't answer the question

and

it still doesn't explain why a BitPay Card is a bad thing

or

how i can LITERALLY buy you something on overstock.com right now using BTC directly

I put in a modest 2500. I now have 7500. I have not seen anyone suggesting this as an alternative to your RothIRA

And dude, that's awesome! I am happy for you!

Again though, you guys have no clue what you are putting your money into, SFP seems to use the actual currency, but Wiki actually believes (believed?) in the currency aspect of it. Why will you not admit that my statement on page 2 is not correct? That all these people entering now are in it for a quick buck, nothing more. You give me the when I am right. I hope it works out for everyone in here who are opening accounts and sinking money in this, I really do. Regardless if it is "play" money.

I don't think anyone knows the potential of this type of currency. That's why it's both risky and exciting

Looks like we've got a real time example of the old timer getting left behind due to inability to comprehend which you were discussing earlier in the thread...

it's literally false to say that you can't purchase goods with BTC directly

and even then, that's adding a layer of BS that is irrelevant if you can purchase goods via card in real time using BTC accounts. who gives a shite if a 3rd party exchanges teh BTC for USD if it all works the same?

All these people saying I'd they lose $1000 it's no big deal... I am accepting donations ????

Seriously, the reason I posted this article is because if fascinates the shite out of me. And I can see the whole taking it to the government thing Wiki use to talk about. But the fact is, I discovered Bitcoin when it was $10.. if I would have done the $100 I wanted to, that's way more more than I have right now living check to check with only a little savings. That is, of course, if wouldn't of lost it.

I was wondering the same thing. Is it a marketplace where you sell coins or is it a currency exchange like any traditional currency place? If so where are they getting the money to make the payouts? Exchange fees?

Serious questions, not gotchas.

i think they mean they know its a risk going into it and theyre willing to lose it all for the potential big gain.

also, the people that are familiar with this technology probably arent bagging groceries at walmart or working the drive thru at burger king so dropping a couple of hundred to a $1000 isnt the end of the world.
