Say if you are cooking, but too much of a dumbass and manage to start a greasefire which ends up setting the entire house on fire.. If someone dies as a result of you starting a fire, are you guilty of murder? Or maybe manslaughter?

These are questions my brain comes up with when Im drunk and bored

I guess you could be charged with murder if they could prove you intended to kill or at least harm the person.

If it was an accident and you were negligent then I guess you could be charged with manslaughter.

Wesson, and ultimately Carol Brady, are the parties at fault.

It's possible you'd be guilty of some level of negligent homicide. Depends on the jurisdiction.

No, you would not be guilty of murder, that requires intent. The most you could be charged with is negligent homicide and even that would require criminal negligence, i.e. a "reasonable person" wouldn't have been that much of a dumbass.

My guess is that you would not be criminally charged but the family of the deceased would sue you for everything you have and hopefully you have good insurance.

Some trash ball I used to work with accidentally started a fire in an apartment complex in Mobile recently and is in jail now. No one was hurt, but many had to be relocated due to all the damages.
