None, In Jan 17 they will change the retirement system. Retired service members will not receive 50% retirement after 20 years.

Point is that if you want to travel, I would say the Navy is the way to go, followed by the Air Force. The only traveling you'll be doing with the Army and Marines are to shithole Arab countries.

I traveled all over Europe and Asia in the army and I didn't have to spend months at sea hotcotting my bed to do it. Some guys like that kind of thing, though.

So does the army. The largest installation on HI is an army post. I've been stationed at Schofield Barracks, HI and Frankfurt Germany.

Now, I don't actually recommend the army, every command climate I've experienced is poison and all in all it's just a giant pain in the arse and a huge bummer, but it's a myth that you can't travel in the army.

I may have told this before - the whole extended crew of mine is army, even my younger daughter. The only exception is the boy. I encouraged him to go Air Force because, as Dirty Harry will tell you, "Man's got to know his limitations."

Well, he gets picked on for being in the Air Force, the choice living conditions, and so forth. When he gets enough (he towers over all of us) - he say, "frick you guys. I was in a fricking TENT in Afghanistan, while you guys were all in Seahuts and wet CHUs with A/C like a hotel."

Good times...

I did Army & Air Force. I'd say Air Force or Coast Guard if at all. if you like the BBC go Navy. if you like sleeping in sand and mud and skull fricking a commie bastard go Army.
If you have an IQ below 60 go Marines.

My favorite story from Aghanistan (2003) was passing through Manas on my way home. Finishing up a ten month deployment (CJTF 180 and CJSOTF-A). All over the country in some of the worst conditions and situations imaginable. Now I am in the AF MWR tent so I can call my wife and let her know I was on the next manifest back to Bragg. A young AF E3 was in a booth beside me, literally crying, because he said he could not make it three months there. In MANAS!

Wanted to bludgeon him to death with my M4.

Good times indeed

Yeah, my toughest living conditions have been CONUS - Fort Polk (anytime is bad, and I've been there every season, every weather condition), Fort Riley ( ) in condemned WWII barracks, North Fort Hood ( ), Fort Dix in moldy, smelly barracks and, of course, the Louisiana Superdome under the worst conditions imaginable.

OCONUS? Camp Monteith and COB Speicher. I've got no complaints.

Barracks at North Fort Polk were horrible (JRTC rotation). Commanded a battalion at Dix and we actually liked the barracks for lodging in kind (made my life so much easier - not going to lie). Have heard the horror stories about mobilization through North Fort Hood. Never have been to Fort Reilly for any reason. Did not do the Iraq thing. Asscrackistan only.
