which one should I take? I have some disposable income, and some free time. I hear all of these stories about super liberal sociology teachers. Which classes are the most outrageous?

Just invite them to coffee or something. I'm sure a couple folks like yourself would love to meet for a friendly debate.

Please don't be "that guy." Everyone in the class will hate you

The whole point is to debate in a classroom setting. I wouldnt "be that guy" and take up a lot of time either.

How lame and bored do you have to be to take a college sociology class in your free time just to argue with the professor?

I think that is a great idea. They have all the power to spew their nonsense to those that need to pass. One day I will probably do the same.

Senior level poli sci immigration course would be better. I took one as an elective my senior year.

I broke many a spirit in class.

My favorite: the relocation scenario.

Your country has just found abundant natural resources. The problem, tribal leaders refuse to relocate.

We had officials elected from each group. Each side was told to sway the other.

Both groups came up with incredibly convincing and detailed arguments.

Right before the votes were cast, I asked to speak with the "tribal leaders" outside of the classroom. I offered 10 million US per person if they voted to relocate. I also explained we had already collected their families at a large party to celebrate their voting for the betterment of their people. I then explained if they ever wanted to see their families again, they had better see things our way.

With the exception of one militant little coffee shop black guy, all voted to relocate.

The professor asked what I told the other side. My response, reality.

It's not like you would do that every day. Just for some over the top crap.

I would find it more interesting than posting on this site.

Even with disposable income that seems like a waste of money. I'm all for lively debate- I'm sure the professors would debate with you outside of a class. Unless you're looking for a large group discussion.. in which case that's probably a better idea than trying your luck somewhere online

Don't be that a-hole that holds up class everyday just so you can piss off the professor. The students will be much madder at you than the professor will be, because professors like hearing themselves talk. We all hated the older guy who always shared his opinion with the class. Don't be that douche.

Kerry Chance is easy on the eyes.
Expect to be in the minority as a straight male.
Expect to be the singular voice of reason within a sea of people who voted for Bernie or Hillary.
Expect there to be a large number of hot coeds... and quite a few not hot coeds.

Honestly though, you will quickly grow tired of the "debate" and will be counting the hours/days until the class is over. Think about this: you can talk to your dog until you're blue in the face trying to convince him not to lick his balls when you have company over, but he's still going to do it no matter how good your argument; that's about how your class will go.

Yes, but there is a level of entertainment when debating a teacher in a classroom environment. A few weeks of it would be worth the $1000 a class may cost. I would have to make sure that I am cordial enough to not get kicked out, like I do on this site.

I think we may have different definitions of fun, but agree to disagree. I will never discourage anyone from more schooling, regardless of the reason.

Sociology of law. Think it's a 4000 level class.

Debate is centered around Constitutional law and how the courts decesions were made effect society. I took it after taking Con Law in Poli Sci and new most of the cases forwards and backwards. Made for some good debates circa 2005.
