not sure if serious, but this stretch between Laffy and the Spillway needs an upgrade.

I've been driving that stretch regularly for almost 40 years now. I can't recall it ever backing up due to heavy traffic except for a wreck or Mardis Gras.

Asking because they've created two or three similar little curves on I10 between Breaux Bridge and Laffy in preparation of adding a third lane.

Nice. About time. That stretch of road is in terrible shape.

gets a little congested around rush hour near Breaux Bridge. If they overlay the whole stretch it will be worth it. Like Boat said, that part of I10 is like the surface of the moon.

It's not "backing up" that's the problem. It's "that road is complete shite and needs replacement" that's the problem. They've got the money to repave it and are smart enough to add a third lane now when it isn't really needed to try to be proactive for the near future.

If anyone wants to piss and moan about road improvements, I suggest you take a long hard look at the clusterfrick that is Baton Rouge to see what waiting to build only when you need more capacity gets you.

If there is one single registered traffic engineer working in this state, I'll eat my hamburger in two bites. What these people do makes zero common sense. Why have a rapid off-camber s-turn on an interstate? Oh, that's probably because they are dumb as a box of rocks

Highland entrance/exit = fricked
Between 190 and 21 in Covington = fricked
Entirety of I-10 in Metairie = fricked

Well smartass, get your order in. There are actually 73 Professional Traffic Operations Engineers certified (registered) with the Transportation Professional Certification Board in Louisiana currently.

the portion in breaux bridge is from a different pool of use-it-or-lose-it money and not a waste at all.

I know the stretch to Pville is planned but nothing's being done. And there's no need at all for the expansion to lafayette. NONE>
