I need a pocketknife recommendation. Something that will last. Giving away as presents.

I'm thinking Benchmade but those are a little pricey. I don't really know much about them but I understand their customer service is excellent.

Is there a reputable model that won't break the bank...but also won't shame me upon receipt and Google?

None of your groomsmen want a pocket knife.

I’ve had my Case pocketknife for thirty years now, I swear by it.

Just go with something old school and meaningful. Case or Old Timer peachpits. 4".

My go-to pocket knife is the Gerber EZ-Out Jr with a serrated edge. You can get it for $36 from the Gerber website. It's not heirloom quality or anything, but it is a damn fine everyday knife.

A quality knife is a helluva better present than what I've received in the past.

The alternative is a bottle of alcohol.

Do you know his groomsmen?

I would prefer a pocket knife to many standard groomsmen gifts.

Benchmade Mini-Griptillian. Price point that says "I care about you enough to give you this nice knife but I'm not spending $125 on you."

One of my favorite stocking stuffers is an Opinel #8 Carbon in the box with a sheath.

It is, no argument there.

Just give them cash or pay for their room, tux, or something like that.

I have a three blade Case and it's a son of a gun to open. I'll look at the single blades. I don't have the fingernails for it.

I'm carrying an Opinel today. Sharp as anything right out of the box.

Schrade has some decent, albeit Chinese-made, knives for nice prices on Amazon. I carry one of those, as well.

Case XX is classic, though.

I got a kershaw as a groomsman and never thought I’d use it. I use that thing every dang day pretty much.

If he's into pocket knives get him a case xx. I think they have a lifetime guarantee and they make hundreds of different models. They won't break the bank unless you buy some of the antiques.

Think I'll just buy this Case Sodbuster. Easy everyday knife.

Just dealt with this very situation. I have hundreds of knives including stupidly expensive hand mades (not because I need them but because I can't resist them and am a bit dumb) so I have some background here.

I went with a CRKT Pilar. Full stainless construction, area on the scales to have it engraved and the blade design is unusual enough to be both useful and cool looking. Best of all, you can get them from Amazon Prime for about $35 each.
