If you miss playing Santa you could always offer to volunteer next Christmas season at your local pediatric floor at the nearest hospital. We always get several groups that come through before Christmas playing Santa bringing gifts to all the kids in the hospital.

That sounds like an awesome idea. I agree...giving is the way to truly find the Christmas spirit

We have a married couple that come every Christmas day to our floor. Been doing it for several years now. They are an older couple and dress up like Santa and Mrs Santa. The guy has naturally white hair and a beard and his wife has white hair as well. They pass out toys to all the kids that are in the hospital for Christmas and take pics with the children. The kids love it and the couple seem to get great joy from it as well.

My 5 year old has been running a fever the last day or so and has been very lethargic. But when I put him to bed and reminded him who was coming tonight, his expression can not be put into words.

I have a 2 year old as well so its all ahead of me!

I miss the Christmas Eve/Christmas morning festivities from when my kids were little, as well.

I think I was more excited about getting up in the mornings than they were...watching their faces light up and the excitement of them tearing the wrapping off of gifts...priceless memories!

Reading all these posts is great. I'm sitting on the couch as my wife puts our 3 year old to sleep. First Christmas morning at our own house with a 3 yr and 6 month old. Super excited about putting out gifts and the morning to follow.

I don't have the energy for this argument this year.

Santa always wrapped for me.

You don't need to quit. Just bust up in a random elementary school in a Santa outfit. Nobody will suspect you aren't allowed there.

I get you. My kid as are 5,6,12 and 18. The 12 year old now knows. However, the 5 and 6 year old have no clue....they STILL believe in magic. I predict somebody may act a fool, ...and Will make a video from that...

Best thread ever on the rant period. I'm a fireman and work 24 hour shifts which this year falls on Christmas Day. So we had to make a special call to Santa to get him to come last night. Seeing my girls 7 and 4 the night before and this morning makes everything in this fricked up world seem right. I never really had big christmas's as a kid so we go all out. Real tree elf on the shelf reindeer food. I love it to death just to see those innocent faces. Anyways thanks for the smiles guys seriously a great thread.

My kids still believe in Santa. If they don't they won't get shite. Same goes for me, no belief, no get.

Sometimes the Grandkids are here and we get to do that, a KICK of course. Not this year and when that happens then I enjoy playing Santa for my wife. I get up at 3 or so, she is sleeping soundly and fill her stocking and put out Santa Gifts. I have a good time doing it, try it - surprise her - You do have to be as quiet as a mouse though because the dog and cat come to check out what is going on
