Damn. Your job sucks so bad that unemployed people aren’t even interested

Where is this position located?

I should have added, we filled it through a recruiting company... was just a strange thing.

That said, I agree some of the people with "opentowork" may not activley looking, but I would have thought I'd at least get a "tell me some more about the job" responses.

Maybe the type of project management work you offer doesn’t interest them.

Define what you mean as “paying a really good rate”

It was strong into 6 figures... not some $125-140k, type stuff.

My favorite ones are the recruiters that just blind fire out jobs without seeing if it would be a good fit or if it is even within the realm of that person's skillset.

My all time favorite was the lady who messaged me wanting to be my dentist.

probably direct hire late in the contract.

You contacted 18 people at least 17 of them have full time employment and you weren't offering enough money for them to cut their health insurance.

Reaching out on LinkedIn for contract or contract to hire positions is a waste of time. Use a recruiter who is working with people who have already said they are open to that kind of work.

Have had the opposite. Employed but looking, have had two people reach out, never been laid off through a massive downturn, in fact have been promoted. Have multiple recommendations, I would argue there is not many good white collar jobs out there.

I suppose I would be afraid to be fully employed and still have an "opentowork" on my LinkedIn.

But that's me.

I mean, pretty much everyone is open to work for the right increases, no?

LinkedIn is nothing more than a bunch of realtors bragging about their last sale. At least it is for me anyways

Remote project management contract position paying a really good rate for 18-24 months guaranteed with probably direct hire late in the contract.

Another position I had I did about the same number of people - much different, lower position but only a few months contract. Got 2 responses.

Just an observation. Funny thing - some of the people actually "connected" but never said a word in response to my info about the positions.

I've had people message me back months later saying they forgot to turn off the "opentowork" setting.

What methodology of project management do you practice? Is this a technical or non technical person that you need?

At least some of them found a job through another site and didn't bother turning the setting off.

Also, remember that a lot of remote jobs are scams, so if you aren't a recognized company they might just assume it's one of those.

I told you on LinkedIn that I don't want to be a phone sex operator. Stop contacting me.

Tech - PM position was for data center migration work.

Again - we filled the position via recruiters.
