In an interprofessional airway lab I went to this semester, I popped the teeth on the mannequin using a glidescope for the first time. Scared the shite out of me until I saw you could just pop them right back in

I hope everyone realizes I was just trolling. It was an easy intubation. 220 lb man with no teeth. But he did have an abnormally large tongue. If any of you LLOTOTs want his number, just let me know.

I talked about this with a student recently. It's not what I prefer, its what is most likely to work for the airway that is presented to you. The technique takes a while to perfect, though.

Tongue control is better with the Mac in my opinion but the Miller can really allow you to visualize anterior airways by lifting the epiglottis out of view.

Honestly though the Glidescope is so easy to use that for any anticipated troublesome airway I immediately go to it.
