My friends did not start looking old and making me feel old until about 55 or so.

I am 39 and this has been something I have come across within the last year are so. It started when I saw a doctor who was a few years younger than I.

There have been several people, I haven't seen in years, that all of a sudden looked a lot older. My first boss, I haven't seen in over 10 years, I ran across him at some event. He was kind of a high energy guy who cussed a lot and liked to play jokes on people.. Then all of a sudden, I come across him and he is moving slower. Not the "high energy" guy I once knew, etc. Its crazy.

Damn!
You've lost 6 siblings?

I'm one of six all still on the right side of the dirt.

Same. Turned 41 last year and all of the music I grew up with is on the classic rock station, I can't sleep through the night without having to pee and most college girls look like little kids.

If you're in the military its even worse.

Once you're 30 you look, act, and feel like 40.

Once you're 40 you're actually 50. The lifestyle does that to you.

ETA: What makes it difficult as well is that there are new, fresh faced kids to deal with all the time because everyone does one enlistment and gets out. That's why the career AD guys look and act pissed off all the time.

You guys are all in your 40s, and complaining about being old? I am 55 so let me give you some advice.

If you're overweight, start losing weight now. Being old AND fat is not a good combo. I've lost a bit over 10 lbs in the pass month and a half; got a bit over 30 to go,trust me...lose weight if you're fat. Your feet, ankles, and knees will thank you.
