I can at least somewhat understand someone thinking they were born in significantly wrong circumstances, but does someone who one day thinks he's about to chop his dick off and the next next week goes to the strip club and bangs as many whores as possible actually exist? No. Humans don't work that way unless they have schizophrenia or a split personality. Gender fluid people are simply attention whores and I don't feel bad for them at all.

Judging by the downvotes you have received, there seems to be a gender fluid "individual" (I guess I'm saying that correctly) in this thread...

That's cool. I'm species fluid.

Sometimes I take shits on my neighbors lawn when I wake up feeling like a dog.

Mental Illness

When I was younger it was the "Goth" movement... mostly ugly people that couldn't get attention any other way so they changed their appearance to garner attention. Same people with a new cause and movement.

What blows my mind is that some of these people are highly intelligent.

That's what I mean when I say "develop as another sex".. Mean, there is something in your brain, that is telling you, you are the opposite sex.. Which of course is some type of chemical imbalance in the brain.

Even if this actually happened, the person writing it was thrilled about her dad's reaction, because it meant he/she/it could write about it on the internet and get all sorts of sympathy points.

Social media acceptance is the only validation that anyone who is "gender fluid" needs.

Exactly what I am wondering. Is there a scientific basis for what is occurring?

Someone brought up the goth movement but I don't see that in the same light. That was dark clothes, pale skin, piercings, music taste, weird jewelry - a cosmetic issue. I might imagine some of these people moved forward and saw it for what it was and lead a productive life.

But the idea that one is born with a penis and decides to dress like a woman, ingest/intake hormones to change secondary characteristics and then finally get an operation to remove said penis and form a vagina is more than a cliche type movement.

Maybe it will take a few of these people to realize they messed up and sue the doctors which will then lead to doctors not doing these operations. I don't know. Like I said, I can't figure it out.

You seem reasonable, I have a question for you. Why are you liberals always fighting and clamoring for equal rights, but as soon as somebody speaks up and has an opinion that differs from liberal ideology, the majority of liberals will want to cry and say that they are racist or do not like people who are not like them?? Speaking specifically about Ellen and the heavyset black woman who said something mean about the LBGTGNBASC community (I forgot her name)

I wouldn't say I am liberal, but I do keep an open-mind and I look at people as individuals.. and not based off of stereotypes, but I don't understand the social situation with the whole "gender fluid" thing.

For example, the whole bathroom situation. I don't understand it enough to know whether or not I agree with someone going to the bathroom of the gender they identify with opposed to the bathroom that represents what sex organ they have.

If you have a penis, even if you identify yourself as a female, what is the big deal with going to the men's room and vice versa? They are just going to the bathroom. There is one bathroom for people with a penis and one bathroom for people with a vigina and why is it such a big issue? That's what I don't get.

They can just change their gender anytime they please. They can go back-and-forth and stop anywhere in between.

A gender fluid person may at any time identify as male, female, neutrois, or any other non-binary identity, or some combination of identities. (courtesy of google)
so ... it's indiscriminate sexual attraction, whatever turns them on at any given moment defines their sexual identity, and that identity can change on a whim

Sounds like no identity at all to me.

I guess so

But its a pretty simple process we have in place, I just have trouble understanding why it has to be more complicated.
