I have a hard time wrapping my head around gender fluidity....

I think I'm fairly liberal and non-judgemental so maybe it's just a lack of education. I have no issues with gay marriage, adoption by gay couples, or surgical correction of those that may be born with both sets of sexual organs.
But if you are born and male or female with no deformities and decide in your head you want to change to the opposite sex - this bewilders me. Do they do hormone testing and find that a person with a penis (man) has high levels of estrogen and low testosterone so it therefore makes sense this person may "want" to be the other gender?
Or is it just arbitrary that one can decide I want to be the other gender. How do you make that decision? Like how would a giraffe decide he wants to be an elephant? European decent Caucasian decides he wants to be Asian?
Certain characteristics can be changed - but they are cosmetic - dye your hair, fake boobs, pierce body parts - but people can now decide I want to be the other gender. It bewilders me and I want to understand it better.
I figured the OT would be a great resource.

This is transgender or gender identity disorder
A gender fluid person may at any time identify as male, female, neutrois, or any other non-binary identity, or some combination of identities. (courtesy of google)
Transgenders identify as the gender that is in contrast with one's sex, which is biological. And it is not fluid.

You should be bewildered because it isn't real. These people are insane. It purely a matter of rejection from society.

I. So sick of the gay\trannie garbage. Keeps getting forced in us. Lately, Ellen got mad at a singer. Kicked her off her show. Now that lady lost her radio show because of her views. Yahoo has to run stories about chip and Joanne go to a church where they don't agree with gay marriage. Hello.....most churches don't. This world is stupid

I've wrapped my head around it: they're attention whores. No one is all that fluid about their identity unless something significant happens to them. All they want is attention.
I can at least somewhat respect a trannie who has made the definitive decision on what they are, but gender fluid people are just like "maybe I'm a man today, maybe I'm a woman. You're gonna have to guess, or I'm going to raise hell if you don't guess or guess it wrong. Look at me! I'm Mr. Meeseeks!"

This is just my opinion, but think some people may develop physically as one sex, but mentally or in other ways, they develop as the other sex.
There is no way for me to understand and I can see how it is difficult to understand how does a person feel like they are a different sex than they are physically. If someone is gay, they are obviously attracted to the same sex so I am curious how this is different for someone who is born.. A male for example, but recognize themselves as a female. Does that mean they are sexually attracted to males or can someone be male, feel as if they are female and be sexually attracted to females?
There are people born with both sex organs.. So how does that work?

Well, I'm not entirely sure, but I think you'd have to tuck the penis back while flaccid in order to insert.
Not sure if length has something to do with it, though.

It's a product of overpopulation and social media. Everyone wants a way to stand out in a crowd of 300 million, because standouts get attention. Social media provides a convenient venue, and all that's left after that is a cause.

I can understand those born with both genders need some corrective surgery and maybe hormones.
I just don't get how you're born with a penis and "feel" like you want a vagina. Like I said, I can feel like I might want to see what I'd look like with different hair color and dye it. A giraffe can't "feel" like he wants to be an elephant.
I'm seeking some scientific explanation for it.

That's because gender is assigned genetically and biologically at birth and "gender fluidity" doesn't exist.
You can, like the rest of us, have a hard time understanding America's persistence in normalizing irrational mental behavior though.

You can't mentally develop as another sex. You can have severe mental issues.

Go ask a doctor at an insane asylum how severe mental disorders work.
