Realistically you have about 15 minutes from wheels blocked to get on your next flight. Which is doable, IMO.

I have no idea if this is BS or not... But it makes me feel much better now.. Thank you...!

Sitting in Louisville pretty nervous. Flying in for my parents 50th tomorrow.

Are you on American? Then you have a good chance.

more accurately, you could probably make it to your next flight in 15 min. from walking off the plane, but if it was in the middle of the day, and you were the only connection running late, and could be accommodated on the next flight, they wouldn't wait, you should be OK tonight

Yep. I've done the ATL 5K before when I had less than 15 minutes (during weather delays) and shown up to my next gate to see they haven't even started boarding.

yep, and with American Eagle, that's a very likely scenario

I've made it gate to gate at DFW in 15 minute. That's with the tram I was on stopping in the middle and making everyone get off for service, and having to catch another to get to the right terminal.

Eagle sucks, and it's actually gotten worse(didn't think it was possible,) over the last year with them going to Envoy, it took me 6.5 hours to get to shv from dfw the other day, coming back was almost as bad

No. DFW, maybe only next to Charlotte, is the worst airport in the United States to have a short layover. I went from C26 to C10 with only a 25 minute layover a few weeks ago, and they were about to give my ticket away. I had to run for it. There's a chance you make it, but you're going to have to literally run.

how does that equate to a bad airport? were you a standby for that flight?

C & D are right across from each other. You have 2 rows of 3 terminals and they are the middle of each row. The Skylink goes around in a big circle. If you can look when you get in and see if your arrival and departure gates are on the ends of the terminals closest to each other it probably would be better walking. If you end up in the middle of the terminal just take the link.

negative, sky link is the only way, the walk over connector will put you in the high D gates which is only AA, the only eagle flights using D are the ones coming in from Mexico that have to clear customs/immigration, and are at the low D gates

you must have the worst luck ever then. I've actually found DFW to be the best airport to have a short layover in. Skylink is awesome

I fly DFW all the time (as home base airport) so I do not do layovers. The layout is horrible and you are guaranteed to taxi on the runway for 15 minutes minimum.

The taxi time is built into the arrival time for the OP so this isn't an issue in this case.

dude, think about this, dfw is physically the largest airport in the world, you don't start flying from the gate, if you're parked on the east side, and you have a westbound departure post, you're going to have to taxi to the west side and vice versa, plus all taxi time is factored into the scheduled block time

ETA: dfw flight ops run pretty damn smooth as big airports go

It's also my home airport, but multiple times I've come back to a terminal different from where I parked, and it's never taken me more than 30 minutes to get my truck at a different terminal. and that's at a leisure pace. and the taxi time is factored in already

What about the Xanax factor? And, how many beers did you have in Louisville before departing? This will all play into the equation.

Xanax=1
Beers >4

Result... Missed my connection by 10 minutes. Ran off the on to the skylink and ran like OJ Simpson to the gate.

Pretty POD. Got some Taco Bueno and 6 pack and a flight in the AM. American really sucked on this.
