Why does having lte wifi in the truck make a difference? Is it so you can work in the truck while you are stopped? Who's phone doesn't have lte wifi capabilities?

This. And they don't tell you how much the monthly rates are. Fact is it won't get wifi where my phone won't.

I also would like to point out that the exotic mountain location it was filmed very likely does not have 4G LTE coverage.

Exactly! Why the hell are you working out of your truck anyway. I would take that camper with the secretary in a heartbeat!

GM telling lies in commercials. I guess the govt takeover of GM is complete now.

Kids?

Kids love LTE for their games. They entertain the kids to keep them calm.

This.

I guess people don't have iPads, iPods, laptops, and kids with same. Plus reception is stronger with truck battery and antenna. But whatever.

She'd definitely be more 'beneficial' up there in the mountains than 4G LTE, If you know what I mean!

I had it in my Sierra, but I never renewed it after the original free trial ran out. It did come in handy when I didn't have cell service at the camp though. I could start my truck and have full internet access to send iMessages or check my email. I don't remember how much it was per month to renew, but I remember thinking it wasn't worth it.

Back in the day when I used to do construction, I worked out of my truck sometimes on larger, sprawling projects. Would have been nice to be able to download up to date blueprints to my laptop (I guess they use tablets today) without having to drive all the way back to the trailer.

I suppose Netflix for rear seat passengers could be helpful if you have screaming kids. Really depends on how much it costs.

1. Kids watching tablets

2. If you stream music while you drive

Both of those take up data.

Yeah, but now you can just open your laptop and use the hotspot on your phone to do what you need to do...

They're making something insignificant seem like something really important, so good marketing job by them!

I'm not one of those Ford vs Chevy people but GM has some dumbass commercials. I still remember the one where they tried to make fun of the step the Fords had. Might initial thought was that if that was the only thing they could take a shot at then they have really let their trucks go. Anyways, guess what they have now?

Yea but you still have to pay out the butt for that data and you can just use your phone as a hot spot.

I'm not saying it's not benefitial at all. Just saying it's not as revolutionary as they are making it sound.

They have a step built in to the rear bumper of the truck.

The GMC Denali's also have a rotating side step skirt if you want to load stuff through the side of the bed.

Not a truck guy, but thought that was handy.

Chevy trying to look like they are being tech savvy with wifi but Ford put the tech into their engineering. Ford is light years ahead of GM.
