Probably a little too late in your case, but taking Sambucol when you first get the flu can shorten the duration a little... maybe down from 7 horrible days to 5.

Flu...
My sympathies. It's worse than miserable. I got the flu really bad back in 1988. I haven't missed getting a flu shot since then. And I'm pretty regular about taking 500 mg Vitamin C most days. And I try to stay away from people who have the flu. No guarantees, but it all helps.

This was the worst season I've experienced (friends and family). Lots of bad cases close to home, but I luckily avoided it for now.
