Anyone know what's going on?
Been sitting on the bridge before Laplace for a while now without moving. Lots of cops and ambulances came through.

I am guessing an accident of some sort.

Road construction on I-10. DOTD has a website that will tell you all this.

Obviously a fatality. They will be doing a traffic homicide investigation. May as well turn off your car and roll down the window.

Is this before or after the merger of 55? I ask cause I have to go to the airport today to pick some one up. Can I just take 55 and be OK?

From the maps, it looks like the closure/backup is west of the I-55/I-10 interchange, so you'll probably be ok if you go to Hammond and then down 55.

But someone else will probably screw up traffic later, so good luck!

It's west of 55, it's moving now though, at a snail's pace

Yeah, just now seeing that. Going to take 12 to 55 and then 10. I figure they will be routing people to Airline.

In this day and age, I don't understand how people do not have traffic apps.

Looks like it should be cleared up soon. It was just one car, and they are putting it on the tow truck now. Looks like they had a tire blow and then hit the side wall on the bridge hard.

All lanes are open on I-10 East before LA 3188. Congestion from this incident has approximately reached two miles.
