there aren't refills, you need a new one each time from the doc...

Tramadol fricking sux
Taken alone, tramadol comes quite short of the psychic relief I seek from narcotics. However–and here I speak solely for myself and my personal experience–I've found that the combination of hydrocodone and tramadol produces an agreeable state of mind for playing music, taking long walks and other activities I enjoy. Moreover, hydrocodone and tramadol are easily obtainable, at least for me. Naturally I'd prefer something more potent, say 30 mg tablets of morphine sulfate, but too much scamming is required to obtain Schedule 1's, so this 60-year old dope fiend takes his norco and tramadol and makes what he can of them.

To my regular physician who is perfectly capable of subscribing pain meds when they are necessary
We are talking about pain that is never ging to be resolved. Your regular physician will not be doing epidural steroid injections, or evaluating you for implanted neurostimulators or intrathecal pumps, and has limited or no knowledge of long term medication protocols which means how to treat your pain over the course of years without destroying your kidneys and liver.

Pain management doctors are totally legitimate.
Some of them really are, the ones who try to use other therapies and minimize the use of painkillers.

For a buzz it is worthless but it's great for small pain.

Wow.

I got some Hydrocodone cough syrup yesterday, so apparently CVS didn't get the memo....

The OP is flat wrong but hasn't changed the title.

no, we did… however the OP is a moron isn and uses "hydrocodone" the way many southerners use "Coke" to generically refer to a soda...

convert the hydrocodone users to Norco
Norco is Hydrocodone and acetaminophen. It's the amount of acetaminophen that is changing from previous formulations (like Lortab) (Acet component from 500-->325). Sounds like they're out of the generic, or it was prescribed in a 'no substitution for generic').

I'm sure this is covered somewhere in the 5+ pages above, but Norco contains Hydrocodone. It just has less Acetaminophen. And Walmart filled my Norco script with 1x refill with no problems on January 3.

I was given that for when I hurt my back. Could take 1-2 every 6 hours for pain. It helped my pain and I def felt a lil high on it(including having that all over itchiness). Couldn't believe my dr said it's non narcotic and that I could work on those No freaking way could I go to work on those, I'd be loopy as shite all night talking 100 miles an hour(stuff makes me happy and very talkative, like more than I normally am)

Morphine SUCKS FWIW! All it does is make you feel sick and doesn't even give you the slightest high. Norcos are WAY better if you are looking for a buzz! My junkie friends that get prescribed 30mg roxys also get the morphines and they don't even fill those, which should tell you how worthless they are!

They are non-narcotic. I can't believe you got itchy from 1-2 Tramadol! They do have anti-depression properties so maybe that is why you felt happy but I would bet most of it was in your mind, or maybe you felt better because they took away the pain?

I've had Tramadol before. It didn't make me feel any sort of buzz. It actually made me feel like crap TBH.

that's why it's extremely addictive
I don't take it that often because if I did I'd probably need about 30 mg to even feel anything
I have to have at least 20-25 mg to start to get comfortable. I've been on them since march of last year. My script ran out in December. Had to stop cold turkey. Had not a single issue quitting. I, for now at least, don't get addicted to anything. My body is chemically different than most people. Products such as adderall are a downer, knock me out. Whereas most people can stay awake for days on the things.
I have had trouble with my doc thinking I am a drug seeker. When in reality it's simply I can't get relief at the lower dosages. It's why I am happy they are making this change. There is no need for that much acetaminophen.

I'm telling you...I was a lil high on it. I've taken other pain pills before. I know what a pain pill high is.
I got that from tramadol. Then again...I don't take pain pills on a regular basis either so it's not like I have the tolerance of someone who takes lots of pain pills so needs stronger stuff for relief.

They work on the same receptors as your narcotics. It's very conceivable that some people get the same buzz from them as you would from something heavier. People are different and react to stuff differently.

Tramadol is basically an opioid. It's a muscle relaxer that affects the same section of the brain as stronger opioids. It's synthesized instead of natural and if you take more that 400 mg in a day you can potentially get seizures. Same if you have been on it for months and stop.
I have worked in a suboxone clinic and have been taking tramadol for right at a year. Lot of people abused tramadol like they do other opioids. I feel similar to about 20 mg of norco when I take 200-250 mg of tramadol.
