Do any of you know of a place that sells replacement AC capacitors in the BR area that might be open today? I just turned the other two AC units down to cool the house for now, so I can wait until Monday if I have to.

I had to buy a new blower motor on Friday and it was only available online from Home Depot. I had to get it at Solar Supply. Not sure about capacitors though.

It should be easier to get than a Flux capacitor.

Easier to replace too. It's simple. Unplug two wires, re-plug two wires. It'll take him longer to remove the panel from the a/c than to actually replace the capacitor.

Is this a subtle brag that his house has 3 AC systems?

I do not know about HD or Lowe's. Ace hardware carries the ones mine uses. They cost about $25 each and are worth it at twice the price.

Good luck.

In case your not aware, the old capacitor can hold voltage after the breaker has been turned off, so be careful disconnecting it.

figured someone cool enough, pun intended, that has 3 units would know to keep a spare capacitor on hand. They're only about $15 a piece.

Not really. I was just telling the whole story.

That's a damn good idea.

I just confirmed (I think) that it's a capacitor or the outside fan. The compressor kicks on, but the fan never starts up. It's a Lennox unit, which appears to have a dual run capacitor. I'm assuming that means it controls the fan and the compressor.

Slim chance this will work, but sometimes you can push start the fan and it will kick back on.

I had capacitor problems too, but one time the motor just got hung.

Easiest to just pull the cover and push a blade with a screwdriver.
