The odds are pretty low that either makes it across, given that we are transitioning to a more Fall like pattern with more frequent cold fronts.

Old 92L is still spinning in the Gulf:

Don't think 92 L will develop, TD 12 might have to be watched looks like it will head west for a while then abruptly turns north into a weakness still lots of time to watch with TD 12.

The models have started trending westward with TD12 but it still looks like it should eventually be able to escape out to sea. A weaker system probably takes the more westward track in the forecasted setup.

And no surprise, TD12 looks pretty barren this morning:

Looks like that system in the Caribbean should be watched by the Gulf Coast. Could be a threat. Expected to develop and could turn northward in the Gulf or steered west towards Mexico.

This is just the general hurricane season thread that rds was maintaining. It kind of went by the wayside with Matthew, but I couldn't find a Nicole thread so I posted the webcam in here.

I thought about starting a late season thread for Nicole and anything that might come out of the Caribbean over the next week to 10 days. However, it looks like the GFS is doing poorly with the MJO and that is resulting in it being too aggressive with development down there.

Nicole is only the 2nd Cat 3 to ever hit Bermuda and this was the first October on record that had two Cat 4 or stronger hurricanes.

Matthew and Nicole took this season from below-normal ACE up to above-normal by themselves
