The homes lining the coast here in SWFL look apocalyptic and The Boat wants to be an a-hole.

I mean, you claimed to "go through" Katrina and Rita.

I guess I did too, while living in Bunkie.

So the trees that were on neighbors homes during these storms don't count? Me shimming up in the attic to pull the vent fan back in to place, so the water wouldn't come in, during Rita?

I live 22 miles south of Baton Rouge, I was less than 10 miles from where I am for each of these stores. Only two of these I "I have been through". Andrew and Gustav. We lost power for 4 or 5 days for Katrina and 3 days for Rita, but the people who took a direct hit went through those. Same with Isaac, Irma and Ian.

When you live in hurricane country, you been through the ones you took a direct hit or was close to the eye when it was high powered and you live in an area with lots of damage.

3 weeks after Katrina I had a great aunt who died in Bay St Louis. Her service had to be done in the only church that was available (although it still had damage). That place looked like a bomb was dropped on them.

Im sorry you are dealing with the aftermath, but I am just telling you what people think when you say "i've been through 7 hurricanes".

I am not bothered by these people, you included. We just went through a horrific storm, that killed people, and destroyed Fort Myers Beach.

Its crazy seeing how easy the house is taken out. There one minute then gone the next. And there is nothing you can do to prepare for that.

There was a couple in the home with their 2 dogs. They survived.

Our gross negligence and inhumanity, as evidenced in this thread, shows that posters here aren't much different than the criminals they scorn. Wake up, OT. Start by being kind. Being a jackass doesn't make you more important.

It's a verbiage thing, Liz. The baws that are gnawing on your perceived corpse are using meteorological definitions of major storms.

You are working off of "They are all minor, until you or yours has a tree on your house."

It is a good thing err'one in this thread is not losing their mind over wrong verbiage. You would have had to kill all of those folks calling you Baw.

ETA: Get back in the queer-pile, downvote queers.

It’s why I moved to Dallas. I was tired of getting blasted by hurricanes. I don’t have to worry about that anymore.

Considering over the past 50 years Florida has had only 12 majors

True, though Florida has waaaaay more coastline and area for a hurricane to hit.

Liz …praying for you and your family. I’ve been through 2 majors hammer my community and home. It kinda wrecks your brain for a few weeks. I’m the end the community will return even stronger. The impressive thing to see if how 1x1 people rebuild their own life. I’m sure that’s a beautiful area. Wish you the best. Take some pictures 2 years from now. It’ll be beautiful again and the rebuild will be even better.

I am so happy I am not a field adjuster anymore, I saw enough shite after Katrina and Sandy to last a lifetime. Now I just look at the photos of the claims coming in from Florida

So in one month, you moved from NOLA to SWLA to experience both Katrina and Rita?
