There was a fight inside. A big group was kicked out and told to leave. The 3 guys who they were fighting were kicked out 20 mins later. The big group was waiting outside and jumped them. One person was curbstomped so bad that they beat him to almost death.

Fred's used to the hangout for upperclassmen who were tired of the mayhem at Murphy's and the other Highland Road bars. Supposedly you had to be a junior to get in, although it was loosely enforced and sometimes not enforced at all. I won't say there were never any fights at Fred's but they were pretty rare.

Someone getting in a fight and potentially dying at an lsu bar should be huge news. The fact it isn’t is scary and a reason I really don’t want my kids at lsu

I remember some controversy 20 years ago about the dress code posted at Fred's. It said no Mr. T starter kits. That was hilarious.
