A friend of mine who works in the OLOL emergency room mentioned to me last night that a 26 year old guy is brain dead as a result of a fight at Fred’s that occurred last weekend.

Out of privacy to the family I won't mention names or too much details as this could become a.criminal investigation but it was a fight outside Fred's for some unknown by me reason and either he fell and hit his head or was kicked in the head.

Kicking/stomping someone in the head while they’re on the ground really should be grounds for attempted murder.
Someone getting knocked out and landing wrong on their head is trickier.
I was wrapping out a show at Fred’s forever ago and watched some dude run full speed, jump on the picnic table, then kick another dude in the head that was already passed out with his head down. They weren’t even fighting, he was just out drunk. The assailant is probably some wealthy politician now.

The only thing I was thinking is that Fred’s was never a big fighty sort of place (and maybe this is actually just a unusual situation here), but I assumed it was still basically similar to how it always had been.

Yea that was definitely a Sports/Reggies thing. Freds was good about getting it to the parking lot and letting the cops eventually deal with it.
As far as just being a bar, Freds is pretty much been the same thing for 20 years execept its gotten bigger. The crowd of Tigerland has definitely changed though since the early 2000s. It used to be strictly LSU students. Now its a bunch of the local ghetto trash in there mixed in

Jeezus. Whatever happened, and if someone did this to him, it's not worth losing your life over.
And while a 26-year-old is certainly permitted to go to Fred's, one would have to ask themselves, "Why?"
