Same here, but my hooks are often more playable than my slices

Welp. That there's an issue.
What's crazy is, with a wedge, it's like throwing darts. For some reason, i can chip very very well.

I really need some lessons. I slice pretty bad. I rock back to front and swing like I'm hitting a baseball so my club face is often too open. I know the problem, I just don't know how to fix it with drills.

How come? What's your pre-shot routine?
I think that problem is that these iron look hooded to me, so I am expecting the draw and am WAY over compensating. I was playing REALLY good golf (for me) and not really paying attention to any pre-shot routine. I would just get a distance and swing. I think a bad habit jumped up in there. I just need some range time, and a few more rounds. When I hit one right, it is fantastic. Right now, my wedges and putter are saving the day. I know once I get it sorted out, I'll be consistently in the low 70's.
I was looking at the Mizuno irons before an awesome deal jumped up on eBay for the Callaways.

Tempo Tempo Tempo
Keep your right elbow in
Slow and smooth back until it tightens
First move on the downswing is to kick your right knee at the left knee.

Well, technically, that's wrong too.
Imagine you're in a cylinder and don't want your body to touch the sides. Like Net said, you need torque.

Starting to fix a lot of problems I was having. Most of my issues of late came with standing too far from the ball causing me to reach. I adjusted and hit the ball great but then started overcompensating and standing way too close to the ball causing a bad fade on my mid to long irons. Think I've finally figured out that is the problem. Was back to killing it at the range yesterday.
It's amazing how one little thing can throw everything off by so much.

Of course it's wrong! That's my point.

I'd just say slow it down, stand behind the ball pre-shot, pick a point between the ball and the target and try to hit "through" that intermediate target. Be sure to align the clubhead first, then your shoulders, then your feet.

I throttled back to 75% power on swings last year and it has shaved 4-5 shots off my score. I tend to overswing and this has REALLY gotten my control down.
Need to get my feel around the greens back. My putting stroke feels great, but I have no confidence in it or my chipping game. Duffed a couple of chips.
Still shot an 81 from the tips on my first round back and I can't complain about that. 4 3-putts too.

When all else fails, just slap a 4i right on top of the pin from 190 on 9 at LaTour. Then drain the 2 footer and act like you do it all the time

If it is that bad, I would go back to just hitting punch shots with a 5i. This will help you make solid contact. Just 50% punch shots. Work it out from there.

So true.

Exactly, what I have been thinking but just couldn't articulate. Will try and post results whenever this f'ing rain stops

I'm much better with a 5-wood off the tee. I can hit it about 260 when I get it right which is more often than not. That gets me close enough on most par-4s.
I also think it's my shafts. They're flex shafts and I need stiff.

Sounds like deceleration. That's a fault of mine from time to time. For me, it's just a matter of getting that feel back after a long layoff. I've got to start swinging more in the fall/winter months.
Having to relearn everything every March/April is a PITA.

I can rip my driver, but my baby fade can turn into a slice if I'm not careful. I tend to hit 3-iron off half the tee boxes. Goes about 230 and rarely, if ever, let one get past the 2nd cut.
