Pretty sure the poker room doesn’t exist anymore.

The poker room doesnt exist but there are ~4 tables by the original sports betting window by the River room or whatever they call the old poker room

ETA: does anyone know if the new sportsbook they converted is open yet?

I've seen it happen more than once with an Asian. One time this Asian dude came to the table I was on. He sits down and clearly has the most chips (in value) than anyone else at the table. After every flop he would push all in, everyone folds and bought about 4 or 5 straight hands.. Everyone was just letting this dude eat away at everyone's chips so I said frick it.. He went all in and I called. I won, double up and it didn't even put a dent in his stack. A few hands later I called him again and beat him. The next hand someone else calls him and they beat him.. And you can see he was getting pissed. A few hands go buy and I decided to do it again. I won. I beat him with like a pair of 8s while he had high card. Dude grabs his stack and looks at me and said "you play stupid. You got lucky and didn't get your pair until the turn" I said something like "so would you recommend I go to a table, go all in every hand and try to buy pots?" and he told me something along with "frick you". As he walked off I yelled "I appreciate you donating to my stack". He goes off, but is still visible talking with another Asian and kept looking at the table. These dudes at the table were all like "let him try to do something to you!" and this one kind of drunk dude was like "yeah, that mother fricker came to this table and thought he was going to just take out money, but we let him know".. and I am thinking "mother fricker.. I let him know and the only other person to call him one time... was not you".. but anyway, got carried away with that story.

Because, generally, black dudes like to gamble, are shite at poker, and can't get away from a hand.

After reading this thread, I'm starting to think yall are all black dudes.

I've played a few cash games in Vegas, but my thing was always tournament poker and I played a lot of it. One cash game some dude sits down with a huge stack of chips and proceeded to try to bully the table. He got his arse handed to him. It was pretty funny to watch.

if an old dude puts a lot of money in the pot, he should fold without the goods.

This got me when I first turned 21 and went in there. Had won a couple of small hands, was doing decently, thought I was playing smart.

Got to 1v1 for a big pot with a guy in his 70’s - he tells me he has a full house. I had 2 pair ace high so felt pretty good and went all in. Turns out he was telling the truth.

On a L’auberge side note:
RIP to the Edge Bar!
So many good times had in there.
That lil spot was like a damn meat market!

I used to be good friends with a guy in college who would clean up online in the early days. One summer he told me he won $30K and didn't have to work a part time job between school. Our Junior year, he went to Vegas and tried his luck. He never talked about it but we were told he got cleaned out badly by "real" players. I never tried to play at the casinos because I figured I'd totally be outmatched.

I’ve been learning by playing online for a few months now but (obviously) not playing in person you’re missing the key element of the game, being able to read players and their tells although it’s kinda interesting how you can still read tendencies short term. To me it seems like a good learning tool but is never ever think it prepares one for a real in person game. Just almost a pure cards-only learning experience.
