We would have a better appreciation for the British, cause those basterds would've fought zee Germans till the last man standing.
I have the utmost respect for the British. They took a beating but never gave in.

There would be no reconciliation between that alternate reality and our current one. It'd be a different society, different technology, different mores, different zeitgeist. People would be in different locations under different circumstances. And yeah, even if you want to take it literally, there's a fair chance that you individually wouldn't exist.

Butterfly effect and shite. And in this case it's a nuclear butterfly

Good god man, this is not what I meant

And some wiseguys on a message board would have shortened it to "British".

Ich bin deutsch. Mein Ur-Ur-Großeltern eingewandert in die Vereinigten Staaten im Jahr 1891.

Mes autres ancêtres, ils ont été déportés à l' Acadie. Les Anglais ont commis génocide.

One reason I'm trying to learn both langauges...Cajun French specifically.

The trouble in the middle east would not exist. The whiter nations of the world would have been assimilated. Russia and Japan would have been raised. Canada likely would have fought to the last man. There would be sects of terrorists everywhere.

Rights wouldn't exist.

We would be living in a boring homogenized society.

It's 230 and I'm going to bed. But here's a starter. The presumption that Germany or Japan would have demanded unconditional surrender and then occupied and governed the world is rather asinine. The war could have just as easily ended with an armistice. The extrapolation of the common myth that the war was about global domination.

Please enlighten us oh omniscient one.

Then please enlighten us as to how your opinion is any different than our own concerning an alternate reality that doesn't fricking exist.

I used my knowledge of history, Germany's iron fisted, control of the EU finances today, and my extensive studies concerning foreign politics to form an educated opinion.

You used?....crystal ball?

Suck a dick you elitest condescending douchebag.

Anyone of the opinion that the US would have been occupied can get off of that nonsense now.

I guess it depends on whether we would have entered the war in the first place. Like let's say that the isolationists had won out. Or even more so, if those who were sympathetic to e Nazis had won over public opinion.

Sadly, we'd probably view it as a positive. We might still have segregation or worse in this country, for starters.

But I doubt we would have been occupied, because in order for the Axis to win, they would have needed for us not to participate unless we sided with them.

Big point none of you are bringing up is even if things had gone differently across the pond, ground forces would have had to have invade the us mainland for any occupation to occur.

People back then bled red white and blue and would have been fighting in the streets for freedom

But if the Axis had won how would that change our opinion of the Axis war efforts overall?

If I were to take this question at face value, I would say we would view their "war efforts" as simply being more successful. Now I could also go the other direction and speculate as to what your question might mean. For instance, would we be more pleased or less pleased with the result of the different outcome. On one extreme, I'm guessing members of the Arian Nation would be tickled to death with the Axis war efforts. On the other hand Jews, blacks, and others that Hitler considered as either evil or inferior, would have been shot or gassed to death. He was practicing genocide, so I personally can't find a way to paint a much better picture than the one that already exists.

Why do people assume that if Hitler and Germany had won, that he wouldn't have turned on the Japs later?
He needed them to help fight the allies, but as soon as he won that war, I imagine he would have tried to purify that race too. Don't see many blond hair blue eyes over there.....
