How to tell the wife I want an at-home babysitter

I work from home but that doesn’t mean I can watch the kids. We are trying for another kid and I obviously won’t be able to take care of a newborn when she goes back to work after that (which she’s planning to do). She’s against daycares (and I tend to agree with her due to daycare safety issues) so I’ve been thinking. If we hire a 20 something year old babysitter to stay at the house with me to take care of the kids while I work in my office we may be able to pay less than daycare and save a little. I’d also be able to keep a distant eye on them to make sure nothing outrageous is happening.
Now, obviously the babysitter will likely be female due to the “profession”. How do I suggest this idea to my wife without her assuming I’m trying to figure out a way to try to bang the babysitter? That’s not what my intent is. I’m really just thinking outside the box here.

Tell you you want an at-home babysitter and give her the reasons why. Not sure how else to do it.
As for as the babysitter being female.. Does your wife not trust you? And.. I guess you don't have to hire an attractive female.. maybe?

They tend to call those nannies and when I was in the market they tended to make daycare look inexpensive.

How much do you think a nanny makes in a year? $20k? $30k? $40k? All of those are significantly more expensive than the vast majority of day cares
