He's been a great governor, actually.

What exactly are you lacking confidence about? I think you need to examine your expectations here. This event is only a few hours old.

I will try this again: Rick Scott may the best governor in the history of this republic. I have no idea. I'm just saying he seems very uncomfortable talking about these shootings. He stammers, repeats words and phrases and just does not appear to be in control(he may very well be, though. I hope he is). And it's not an ideal look when juxtaposed to the senators from his own state, most of the folks from the Dallas shooting, and even Kip Holden and Governor Edwards (who I don't care for) here in Louisiana, all who appeared unflappable.

Rick Scott is just as awful person all together. Florida is the only place trashy enough to elect him.

If there was any lingering doubt as to whether Scott has been a good governor, this removed it.

Hate to take the contrarian viewpoint but Scott sucks. He inherited a housing crisis but let's be honest every State has rebounded so he cannot claim it as a victory there.

He supported legislation that expanded the number of trauma centers in the State. This sounds all good and well but the benefactors of the change were HCA hospitals! Imagine that? All he successfully managed to do was make the lives of the existing safety net hospitals more difficult and there's been no evidence to support that the changes have improved patient outcomes.

He refused a huge amount of stimulus money from the Federal govt. I get that you have to play partisan politics but it's not like Obama said "You're right Rick, we just won't spend this money." They gave the money to someone else. That makes him an idiot. The State certainly could have used that money.

Not to mention his closed door policy and repeated circumvention of the sunshine laws.

Guys a hack and was guilty of the largest white collar crime of his time. Only in Florida would we elect him to the highest office in the State.

He's just not very calming, not reassuring like you'd want you executives to be. I literally know zero about him other than these 2 incidents--he may be a fantastic governor, he may be shite. I have no idea. I am just commenting on his lack of ability to inspire confidence after these shootings. I am not judging his character or his politics.
