What kind of shafts are the OT golfers hitting?

Kinda looking at getting a new shaft for my driver but also thinking about a new set of irons. I'm interested to hear what yall have to say about it. What is the biggest difference in stiff and extra stiff?

Old timers, are yall using graphite?

I'm an old timer and would go with graphite. It's a great lube.

I have graphite in all my irons.

Driver is reg flex off the rack.

You don't need x stiff. Do you think you're on tour? lol

Stiff on the driver. Regular steel on the irons.

All stiff. All the time.

Steel shafts (pun intended) on the irons.

I play a Dynamic Gold XP x100 shaft in my irons with the spinner shafts in my wedges. The DG XP shafts have a high launch which help me with my natural pinched low ball flight.

I run a Graphite Design Tour AD shaft in my driver at X and a stock stiff shaft in my 3 wood.

Get what shafts you need, not what someone else tells you.

Fujikura speeder 757 X stiff

Once you start topping that 110 swing speed range it may be time to start considering X stiff

I normally try all my shafts at demo days, the way clubs are made its easy for them to pop 4 or 5 different shafts into the club head you like the most

If you have a fast swing speed on your driver, you should use a staff shaft. Otherwise the club head can't keep up with the shaft and you end up pulling the ball

Current driver has a stock stiff shaft. My old driver had an aftermarket X-stiff. It did seem to help with accuracy but I lost distance but that was trade off.

If you're young 20-45 I would say most guys fall into the stiff shaft or a heavier weight regular flex shaft. I work in the golf business and it's comical how many people thing they need an x stiff shaft when in reality only about 5 percent of golfers I encounter swing fast enough to benefit from it.
