How quick can I get loose stone set into a ring?

I have a loose stone and I need to purchase a setting and get everything complete by September. Is this as easy as going into a store, making a purchase and having it set that day? Do jewelery stores carry settings on-site for this sorta thing. Clue me in. I'd ideally like it done ASAP. Thanks folks!

My dad is a jeweler. He will have some settings on hand for your loose stone to be set in. If you want something specific, you can order it out of a catalog and it will be overnighted from Stuller in Lafayette. Once in, he can set it fairly quickly.

Depends on the stone, setting and if they actually have an on-site jeweler.
Luckily Stuller is pretty much the findings source and located in LA so material should be close.
If all is good and they have an on-site jeweler, you should be able to get same day if they have time

Unless your jeweler is a personal friend of yours or you're willing to shell out some cash, it isn't really an overnight kind of thing. Possibly if it is a simply crappy setting.
That said, it also doesn't take months to do either. If you can find a setting you like in a store, usually they have it in stock, then it usually takes a few days, maybe a week to get the stone set, just because there will typically be a few customers ahead of you.
If you want a custom setting, you probably want to find a jeweler you like (not at the mall) and start discussing ideas.
