False.

There ya go.

Even BRCC is pushing it. My parents live within a couple miles of the Baton Rouge Country Club, and they're not in city limits.

It's not that hard. Its arguable that we have three with UClub.

This is the correct answer. I worked at BRCC in college and the same members are still there. I talked to an executive at the club not too long ago and he relates that it is approaching crisis status because the old frickers won't let any new people join outside of existing families.

It is like when the royal familys in the Middle Ages would interbreed to keep anyone from getting in. The Club is going to tank if they don't get new members.

This. And BRCC is "Old South", so that only leaves 1 (or 2 if you count UC) club left for minorities to join.

My hometown of Tyler has 3 Country Clubs with a population of 100,000. Old money towns have a lot membership. We have one original club where most of the members are O&G and two newer clubs where it's more the doctor/lawyer scene.

Birmingham has around 10 country clubs. Guess we have 10x the average try hards per capita.

BRCC is a social club.

CCLA is a fine golf club that badly wants to be a social club with the status of BRCC (some embarrassing wannabe members).

Uclub is a better than average club.

I'd say we could use another UCLUB level course in this town.

There's basically no torque, and zero horses, at any of the clubs mentioned in this thread.

Paul Allen needs to meet us at La Tour Saturday for a stinger demo and ribeye sandwich.

The BR golf scene needs another private club more in line with the rates for UClub. Santa Maria's layout is good enough for that - a shame they sold it to BREC...

I basically grew up there and this is very true. They are extremely picky...and racist.

They turned down Michael Jordan to play there because of some bullshite "No guests on Saturday" or something. He was welcomed at CCL.

Its a beautiful club and David Toms just helped redo the course and its in fantastic shape, but they need new blood in the membership. I live in Nashville and I've been asked to be a junior member just because my father and grandfather were members. Yeah, right, like I have money for that
