I've still got a 3GS. The metal volume buttons fell off about 4 months ago and when I switch it to vibrate it tells me to frick off. However it still makes calls, kinda surfs the Internet, and plays music. I've lost count how many times I've dropped it and it's still intact. Never had a case 
I'm getting a 6+ soon, though.

iPhone 5. Going on two years old but I've had it replaced under warranty last month at the Apple Store using AppleCare. I intend to keep it for another 18 months

I had a piece of shite phone for many many years before getting a 5 last year. I used to be very anti-Iphone stuff.
